Baby Shower Games are what makes or breaks many baby showers

Many people believe that the best way to have a great baby shower is to play baby shower games. Some games are great at some baby showers, while they bust at others. This will occur when people do not research the games available, and tend to use what everyone else uses. They often do not take into consideration the people who would be attending baby shower, and this is the problem.

For example, a group of business women would not have much fun playing games that would be fun for homemakers, or older relatives. It is important to know the mother's-to-be guests and then pick a variety of games to keep everyone laughing and having a great time at the baby shower.

There are hundreds of places to find baby shower games. The internet is a vast source of information, as is local bookstores. There are hundreds of books available that talk about baby shower games, and baby shower planning. There is no one place to look and the more information you can find, the better types of games you will be playing.

The following are some games that people of most ages can enjoy at baby showers.

Everyone guesses the size of the mother's belly. After all the baby shower guests have made their guess, the hostess measures the tummy and the closest guess wins.

Everyone guesses the number of candies in a bottle. For this find a unique or crazy bottle and fill it with candies. Make sure the number is written down. Once all the baby shower guests have guessed, hand out the prize to the closest guess.

Put several types of baby food in small bowls after attaching a small piece of paper on the bottom with the type of food in the bowl. Have the baby shower guests write down what type of food is in each bowl by the sight of it. The one with the most right wins.

At the beginning of the baby shower hand out five clothes pins or safety pins to each guest. Tell them that if someone catches them saying the off limit word, like "baby", or doing an off limit action, like crossing their legs, they lose a pin to the person who catches them. The person with the most pins at the end of the baby shower wins.

Fill a large bowl with uncooked rice and place a closed safety pin in the rice and mix it up. Pass the bowl around and see if anyone can find the safety pin in the rice. It's harder than it sounds.

Before the baby shower begins, fold some beverage napkins in the shape of a diaper. Place one brown M&M type candy in one diaper, the poopy diaper. Then put other colors on top and in each of the other diapers. Make sure you have more then enough diapers and hand them out. Explain that the person with the poopy diaper wins.

These are only a few of the basic baby shower games that are available. There are hundreds that are not listed here, but are incredibly fun. If you have the space and time, maybe a scavenger hunt for items around the location of the baby shower. Use your imagination and what you think the guests will enjoy when picking the baby shower games that will create a festive and fun baby shower.
